According to a new poll, Polymarket betters predict that Harris will win the long-awaited televised event on ABC.

The Tuesday night debate marks the first since Trump and current U.S. President and former candidate Joe Biden faced off in June.

Biden exited the race in July following his disastrous debate performance with Harris, the newly elected Democratic candidate.

Polymarket betters have long made political predictions about Trump and Harris, with users of the decentralized prediction market favoring the one-time reality television star to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election over the former top prosecutor with 52 percent of the vote.

Trump and Harris have been neck and neck in the polls, with the two candidates effectively tied ahead of this week’s debate as experts suggest ratings may surge past all-time-highs.

In fact, the majority of Polymarket betters predict that viewership will top 75 million, on par with the 84 million who tuned into Trump and Hillary Clinton’s debate in 2016.

The Candidates And The Crypto Sector

Trump has largely embraced the blockchain sector, previously vowing to make the United States “the crypto capital of the planet.”

The former U.S. president recently promoted World Liberty Financial – a new crypto platform from his sons Eric and Donald Jr. – on his social media.

However, numerous scams in recent weeks have shrouded the project’s announcement, prompting concern amongst some Trump allies.

Harris has yet to formally reveal her stance on digital assets, though some crypto community members feel her affiliation with Biden’s pro-regulatory positioning may negatively impact her image.

Crypto For Harris, a left-leaning digital asset advocacy group, hosted its first town hall last month featuring several high-profile politicians in hopes of generating support for the Democratic nominee.

“There’s only one person who’s running for president who has called crypto a scam, and that’s Donald Trump,” Rep. Wiley Nickel told viewers of the live-streamed event, referring to the ex-president’s old anti-crypto X posts.

Meanwhile, Trump and Harris’ respective running mates Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) will go head to head in a debate on CBS come October 1.
